Welcome to the Summer of Cooperating Volunteers!
With the arrival of summer, our volunteer programs in destinations across Africa, Asia, and Latin America enter their busiest period. During these months, we receive the highest number of participants in our projects, and each arrival marks the beginning of new experiences, learning, and collaborations that transform both the participants and the communities we work with.

More People, More Impact
The peak season means a significant increase in the presence of all of you in destinations such as Costa Rica, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, or Senegal (among many others). This increase allows us to multiply the impact of our programs: more hands collaborating on educational, environmental, wildlife conservation, and social support projects. From women’s empowerment workshops to animal care projects, each participant brings their enthusiasm, skills, and unique perspectives, generating a tangible positive effect in the communities.
Preparation and Coordination
To ensure this influx is managed efficiently, our local and office teams have worked intensively on logistics and coordination: room assignments, airport transportation, activity planning, and safety and health supervision. Each arrival is carefully organized so that volunteers integrate quickly and can start contributing from day one. Coordination includes accommodation distribution, work groups based on interests and skills, and ensuring that each program has the necessary support, both in terms of equipment and human guidance. Additionally, our entire team from Barcelona and Madrid travels to the destinations to provide additional support to the local team.

Unique Experiences for Each Participant
Peak season not only means more participants but also more diverse and enriching experiences. Volunteers face real challenges, from teaching in rural schools to participating in the conservation of endangered species, actively contributing to community development. Furthermore, this period is particularly special in some destinations: in Costa Rica, for example, it coincides with the turtle nesting season in Ostional, allowing participants to have unique experiences in conservation and environmental education.
Learning and Personal Growth
Beyond the direct impact on communities, peak season is also an opportunity for personal growth for volunteers. Living alongside people from different parts of the world, working in teams, adapting to new contexts, and being exposed to different realities foster leadership, resilience, and empathy skills that remain long after the volunteer experience ends.

A Summer of Transformation
At Cooperating Volunteers, we see peak season as a moment of shared transformation: volunteers and communities mutually enrich each other through the exchange of knowledge, effort, and experiences. Every project that begins this summer represents a step toward a more collaborative, conscious, and supportive world.
We are excited to welcome all the volunteers who will join our programs during these months. Your commitment and energy are the driving force that allows projects to thrive and communities to grow sustainably.
