At Cooperating Volunteers, we support people who want to make an impact through real, sustainable projects with a positive outcome. We are present in many destinations throughout the year, working hand in hand with a local team that ensures your volunteer experience goes perfectly.
And although many of you have already traveled to Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal, Bali… we want to recommend other destinations that will have powerful programs offering it all: culture, nature, learning, and above all, communities that welcome every participant with open arms.
Ghana, Costa Rica, and India are waiting for you.

- GHANA: The Heart of West Africa
Ghana is one of those countries that captures your heart from the very first day. Its people, energy, and warmth make every experience there unique. It’s a perfect destination for those seeking a deep connection with the local community and an authentic cultural experience.
This year, Cooperating Volunteers and NASCO Feeding Minds join forces to create a positive and lasting impact through projects located in Sawla and nearby communities, sharing the goal of “feeding minds” with a focus on community development, creating opportunities, and promoting education in rural areas.
The programs you can participate in include: digital teaching, childcare, women’s empowerment, community and environment, and medical.
We will also continue working on projects located in Buduburam, a city in Ghana’s Central Region where we participate in a former Liberian refugee camp, collaborating with several local projects.
Here you can also choose among programs such as: childcare, community and environmental work, women’s empowerment, football coaching, teaching support, medical, and a children’s disability center.
In addition, Ghana offers stunning natural landscapes: tropical beaches, rainforests, and historical castles that tell the story of Africa. During your free days, you can explore Cape Coast, visit Kakum National Park, and wander through the colorful, lively markets.
You can also enjoy its gastronomy and try traditional dishes that reflect a mosaic of cultures, as several ethnic groups coexist and express themselves through food.
In previous blog posts, you can find the must-see places in Ghana and a list of traditional dishes you can’t miss during your volunteer experience.
So, your experience in Ghana will not only allow you to contribute but also to learn values such as community, resilience, and gratitude.

- COSTA RICA: Nature and Pura Vida
Costa Rica is synonymous with biodiversity, positive energy, and respect for the environment. It’s one of the countries most committed to sustainability, making it an ideal destination for those who dream of a responsible and environmentally focused experience.
In this destination, our projects are based in Sámara and take place in direct contact with nature: animal rescue and protection, sea turtle care, reforestation, coral planting, and environmental education.
You can also find programs in school support, sports, women’s empowerment, and medical assistance.
But beyond the volunteering experience, Costa Rica is pure inspiration. On weekends and free afternoons, you can lose yourself on Pacific paradise beaches, discover majestic volcanoes like Arenal, or explore the tropical forests of Monteverde.
And of course, you’ll enjoy the “pura vida” lifestyle that defines Costa Ricans: a philosophy based on simplicity, kindness, and connection to what truly matters.
In the blog, you’ll also find recommendations for places to visit and foods you can’t miss if you choose Costa Rica as your volunteer experience destination next year.
- INDIA: Transforming from Within
India is not a country you visit—it’s a country you live.
It’s a place that awakens all your senses: colors, aromas, sounds, chaos… It’s a destination that invites you to look inward and discover a new way of understanding the world.
Our volunteer experience programs in India are mainly located in the north of the country, in cities like Jaipur, where we collaborate on projects in orphanages, women’s development, teaching, sports, and medical work.
Cultural exchange in India is one of the most enriching parts of the trip. You will learn as much as you teach, and each day will be a lesson in humility, generosity, and mutual learning.
And if you love to travel, India will leave you speechless: you can visit the Taj Mahal, explore the Rajasthan desert, or enjoy the mountainous landscapes of the north. An experience that combines volunteering, culture, and spirituality.
As in the other destinations, you’ll find several blog posts with many recommendations and must-see spots.
We assure you this trip will mark a before and after.

Ghana, Costa Rica, and India are three different places, but they all share something essential: the opportunity to create real impact.
In each of these destinations, your work will make a tangible difference and, at the same time, you will discover a new version of yourself. You’ll learn to appreciate simplicity, live in the present, and connect with people who, even if they don’t speak your language (Ghana and India), share your same values.
2026 will be a year to continue building transformative experiences. If you’re looking for a journey that combines solidarity, personal growth, and adventure, these three destinations offer all that and much more.
