The objective of this programme is for the volunteer to teach, while learning and becoming involved in the day-to-day life of the monastery. Experiencing the day-to-day life of a monastery is a unique experience.
The volunteer will teach English and, if they want, other subjects that are easy to explain such as mathematics, geography and handicrafts. The students are generally monks aged 6-15 years old. The teaching timetable spans from Sunday to Friday. If the volunteer wants, he/she can take Fridays off. Classes are held for 2-3 hours a day from Sunday to Friday (Saturday is the only day off). The timetable is variable. During the rest of the day, the volunteer will participate in the activities being carried out around the monastery: gardening, cleaning and learning how to pray and meditate.
* Accommodation: the volunteer will stay in the house of a local family.
* Destination: Valley of Kathmandu.
