Social project that provides support and accompaniment to mothers in the preparation of food (lunch) in the peri-urban area of the city.
This food is provided to the population living around the community, at low cost and in some cases free of charge (social cases).
The beneficiaries are around 90 people, including pregnant women, children, the elderly, abandoned mothers and people with disabilities.
Where do the resources for food preparation come from? The municipal entity of the district provides monthly support (menestras) and an NGO provides non-perishable food from time to time. In general, food is provided with the minimum income they earn from the daily sales of lunch.
Activities to carry out:
- Support in food preparation
- Cultural exchange
- Cooking workshops.
- Accompanying women to markets.
- Help with their small animals.
- Support in food gardens.
- Talks on gender equality, personal and household hygiene and cleanliness, nutrition and good food for the beneficiaries at lunchtime.
- Line up and distribute rations in accordance with biosecurity protocols.
- Cleaning the canteen premises at the end of the daily activities.
The project is open all year round
Logistics: Bus, (€0.30/each trip) – 40 minutes travel time.
Timetable of the program: M-F from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Minimum stay: 1 week.
