The Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre was established with a view to rescuing and rehabilitating animals that Environmental Police had taken away from individuals who had purchased endangered species to keep as pets. The Centre aims to give these animals the chance to live a decent life, helping them to prepare for their reintegration into their natural habitat. In some cases, animals who have been severely mistreated can’t be released immediately into the wild. These animals require a specialised help programme that reminds them how to behave and act in their natural environment.
