Sigiriya
It’s one of the most iconic places, you’ve probably seen it in photos. It consists of an ancient fortress and garden complex located atop a nearly 400-meter-high rock. It’s also known as the ‘Lion Rock,’ and at the top, you’ll find the ruins of King Kasyapa’s palace.
Yala National Park” or “Minneriya National Park
The former offers you the opportunity to see leopards in the wild, although they are not very common and sometimes it’s challenging. This national park is the largest in Sri Lanka. The latter is also very popular, especially for the large number of elephants you can see.
Ella
It’s a beautiful village surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes, tea plantations, waterfalls, and a very popular destination for hiking and relaxation in nature. Kandy
Kandy is a city in the heart of Sri Lanka where you’ll find the Temple of the Tooth, one of the most sacred places of Buddhism in the country, as it houses a revered relic: the tooth of Buddha. The city also has other temples like Vishnu or Pattini, and monasteries like Asigiriyacon and Malwata. It’s also a site with a lot of cultural richness, and you can enjoy dance performances, walks by the lake, visit the botanical garden, and go on excursions to nearby mountains.
Beaches
Almost all the beaches that surround its coasts are incredible, but the most popular ones are: Unawatuna, Mirissa, Hikkaduwa, Arugam Bay, and Tangalle.
Unawatuna is known for its golden sand and calm waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Also famous for its atmosphere and its quiet bars in the surroundings.

Tangalle is perfect for those seeking serenity and calmness; its long stretches of white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters are authentic natural paradises.
