In this program, volunteers are engaged in childcare centers where they care for children ranging in age from four to fifteen. The main objective is to provide these children with nurturing, education, and pedagogical support.
The volunteer’s general role is to serve as a positive role model and teaching, akin to a big brother or sister. Volunteers play a pivotal role in encouraging children and young people to aspire to a meaningful future. Cultural exchange is a vital component of this program as it helps establish a meaningful connection between the volunteers and the children in the orphanage.
Some of the typical tasks involved in this program include:
- Organizing recreational activities for the children and young people.
- Assisting the children with their personal hygiene.
- Providing support in education and teaching.
- Assisting with meal preparations for the children.
- Helping with household and orphanage chores.
