The total cost of the volunteer program is broken down into 2 parts. The inscription fee that is paid to book your spot in the program 210 euros, and the program fee which is paid afterward. The following list gives a breakdown of the program fee for each project.

Teaching Volunteer Program in Kandy:

Teaching Volunteer Program In Rambukkana:

€240 for 1 week
€380 for 2 weeks
€660 for 4 weeks

Medical volunteer program

– In Rambukkana:

€240 for 1 week
€380 for 2 weeks

– In Kandy:

€700 for 2 weeks
€350 for each additional week thereafter

Restoration and renovation volunteer program

€490 for 2 weeks
€245 for each additional week thereafter

Turtles volunteer program

€630 for 2 weeks
€315 for each additional week thereafter

Elephant conservation volunteer program

– In Rambukkana:

€400 for 1 week
€300 for each additional week thereafter

What is included in the fee that I am paying?

  • Administration costs.
  • Assistance from Cooperating Volunteers staff at all times.
  • Airport pick-up and transfer to your accommodation.
  • 1 orientation day.
  • Introduction to Sri Lankan culture.
  • Accommodation.
  • 3 meals a day 7 days a week in Rambukkana. / 3 meals a day from Monday to Friday and 2 meals a day on Saturday and Sunday in Kandy, Hanguranketha, Mawanella, Dambulla, Ambalangoda.
  • Regular evaluation meetings throughout your program.
  • 24/7 support from local partner staff.
  • Volunteering certificate at the end of the program (upon request).

What additional costs will be incurred by the volunteers?

Visa, flights, travel insurance (obligatory), vaccines, airport return, other expenses such as bottled water, toilet paper and daily commute costs.
(*** Volunteers in Sri Lanka will generally find that €25 (approx. 30 USD) is enough to cover basic weekly expenses.)
